About This Opportunity

The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at UQ is developing an exciting new initiative in teaching and learning by establishing a teaching and research scholars team, whose focus will be on innovative assessment mechanisms and tools for the future of university education. Generative Artificial Intelligence tools and technologies have shifted the way in which we will need to think about assessment and the testing of knowledge in a way that maintains academic integrity, but the tools and technologies also offer ways to innovate in streamlining student learning, university assessment processes and customising the learning experience.

The school already has an established core grouping with a focus on innovation in teaching and learning that researches and develops innovative technologies and assessment mechanisms. We are seeking to now grow this research focus, by the addition of a Lecturer (Level B) and/or Senior Lecturer (Level C), teaching focussed appointment(s) to the team. The position is expected to help drive EECS strategy on innovation in technological learning, together with the design of novel learning support tools and innovative authentic assessment design.

As a teaching focused academic at level B or C, the successful candidate(s) will also be expected to contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning leadership in the School.

The full-time equivalent base salary at Academic Level B will be in the range $106,079.67 – $125,687.99 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $124,113.21 - $147,054.95 annually.

The full-time equivalent base salary at Academic Level C will be in the range $129,609.64 - $149,217.97 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $151,643.28 -$174,585.02 annually.

As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.
