Unique opportunity to join the Discipline of Women’s Health and the Reproductive Medicine Research Group in the School of Clinical Medicine at UNSW Sydney to work with a small, high profile group including Professor Bill Ledger and Professor Rob Gilchrist . You’ll contribute to research as part of the Fertility & Research Centre (FRC ), a research and public IVF unit with the resources, patients, samples and clinical trials to translate research to solve clinical problems. You’ll also teach a postgraduate master’s course in reproductive medicine, including regular course review and redesign to inform latest developments.
The Organisation
The Reproductive Medicine Research Group within the FRC conducts world-leading fundamental and clinical research to make transformational changes in modern reproductive medicine. Its aim is to understand the key mechanisms that regulate oocyte and ovarian function and female fertility, to make transformational changes for infertile women and women/girls diagnosed with cancer. The FRC has two sites: 1) the clinical services and clinical research arm is located within the Royal Hospital for Women, on UNSW’s Randwick Clinical Campus, and 2) the FRC’s biomedical discovery arm is located in the heart of UNSW’s biomedical precinct on level 4 of the Wallace Wurth Medical Sciences Building. The biomedical precinct incorporates the School of Biomedical Sciences, the Wallace Wurth and Lowy Cancer Centres and the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, providing on-site access to world class biomedical research facilities.

Who you are
You have a PhD in a relevant biological science, and/or relevant work experience, as well as:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in research within a biomedical or clinical department, preferably within the area of reproductive biology/medicine
- Track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact as well as the capacity for research leadership
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning.
- Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
