About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer to come join us in the Department of Psychological Sciences in 2023.  Situated within the School of Health Sciences, we provide state-of-the-art undergraduate, honours and postgraduate psychology training at Masters and Doctoral levels. 

Our undergraduate psychology programs provide students with foundational skills and work integrated learning to undergo further training in psychology and/or research or enter the workforce with a Psychology degree. After successfully completing their course, students in the postgraduate clinical and/or forensic psychology courses are eligible for general psychologist registration in Australia, and to begin their registrar program for Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical and/or Forensic Psychology. Students graduating from the Master of Counselling course are eligible for PACFA and ACA accreditation. Our programs also provide important research training for evidence-based practice and competent delivery of research and evaluation projects in the psychological sciences. 

You will primarily be responsible for teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate counselling and/or psychology programs at Swinburne. You will also be responsible for coordinating and supporting sessional and other teaching staff to ensure a high-quality teaching experience for students and will also develop and manage industry partnerships and conduct research.

For candidates who wish to work part-time, job-share arrangements may be considered. 

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • A track record of publications and a demonstrated commitment to ongoing research activities within the field
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching in a University setting, including but not limited to small and large group blended teaching models
  • Demonstrated high levels of written and oral communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member

Qualifications
  • A Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or DPsych) or related discipline. 
  • Psychology Board of Australia approved clinical supervisor for higher degree trainees. (Preferred)
  • Registration with AHPRA and/or PACFA and/or ACA, with experience in clinical or counselling psychology.
