  • Level B - TRP $117,562 - $138,831 per annum inclusive of 17% superannuation

About the position

A Level B Lecturer (Teaching & Research) is expected to develop curriculum, coordinate subjects, teach, support students, and undertake research and other scholarly work relevant to their discipline or professional field. An academic at this level will work in collaboration with colleagues to deliver an outstanding student experience. Their research will make a significant contribution to the discipline and they will be developing a reputation at the national level.

This position will contribute to the discipline of psychological science, including opportunities for undergraduate and honours subject coordination, related teaching and marking, research and research supervision, and administrative duties. Expertise in behavioural neuroscience, research methods, neurodiversity or cultural psychology is desirable but not required.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • Completion of a PhD or equivalent accreditation recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline area, with subsequent professional work experience.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and curriculum development in a recognised area of psychological science, with a commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Evidence of high quality and/or high impact research conducted and published or otherwise disseminated, relative to opportunity. Evidence of success in securing research funding would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and co-supervise honours and postgraduate students undertaking research in psychological science.
  • Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
