To be eligible, you must (a) Have casual experience totalling at least two (2) teaching sessions at La Trobe University in the previous two (2) years; (b) Have not held a continuing position in a university in the previous three (3) years.

About the position

La Trobe University's School of Allied Health, Human Services, and Sport is on a quest to find an enthusiastic and innovative Lecturer in Physiotherapy. This full-time, continuing position located at our Melbourne (Bundoora) campus, offers a remarkable opportunity for a dynamic educator eager to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs in Physiotherapy.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of physiotherapy professionals, contributing to the design, coordination, and teaching of subjects across our undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Your innovative teaching methods will provide a high-quality learning experience that engages students both online and on-campus, ensuring they are ready to excel in their future careers.

  • Coordinate and deliver compelling curriculum through lectures, tutorials, workshops and practical classes that inspires and motivates students.
  • Lead curriculum design and teaching innovation, embedding employability skills and leveraging the latest in online and blended learning.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve teaching initiatives using an evidence-based approach to teaching practices.
  • Mentor and guide other academics in best teaching practices, enhancing the department's overall teaching quality.

Skills and experience

  • A PhD in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist.
  • Proven excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and subject coordination across varied modes of instruction.
  • A record of innovative teaching initiatives that have tangibly improved student experiences.
  • The ability to engage with and contribute to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
  • High level communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse groups.
