Overview

The School of Medical and Health Sciences is a leading provider of graduates for the Bachelor of Science (Paramedical Science).  Modern and well-equipped teaching and research facilities combined with enthusiastic staff and supportive administration make the School an enjoyable and productive atmosphere in which to work. The Paramedical Science team is passionate about developing the role of paramedics to meet the needs of the community, and creating a dynamic learning space for high quality paramedical science graduates who are valued members of the health workforce. 

An opportunity exists to be involved in the teaching of our Paramedical Science courses in a student-focused environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for the motivated paramedic academic to pursue teaching innovations related to Paramedical Science.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Significant progress towards the completion of postgraduate studies;
  • A paramedic qualification recognised in Australia with at least 5-years postgraduate experience as an operational paramedic;
  • A demonstrated understanding of the requirements to achieve work-ready status as a paramedic;
  • Proven experience in the successful research-informed teaching and supervision of paramedic students in an accredited tertiary paramedical science program;
  • Have experience in teaching Paramedicine curriculum;
  • Have demonstrated experience around delivering on and off campus classes through online/digital technologies;
  • Have demonstrated experience and/or equivalence in ensuring best practice in teaching, including activities around moderation of assessments and ensuring compliance to teaching and learning policies;
  • Have a developing research track record, including research outputs;
  • Be willing to engage in broader university service activities as part of their workload, including School-wide committees which drive continuous improvement in education and/or research activity.

Benefits & Remuneration

This part-time ongoing position (0.4 FTE) attracts remuneration of $72,650 to $97,389 pa (ALEVA) - $102,253 to $120,814 pa (ALEVB) plus 17% University superannuation contribution. (Salaries quoted are full time rates, and will be paid on a pro-rata basis)
