Overview:

  • An opportunity now exists to join RMIT’s School of Health and Biomedical Sciences and contribute to the teaching and research growth within Pharmacy

  • 1 x Full time, Fixed Term (from July to until November 2023) appointment based at the Bundoora Campus

  • Remuneration at Academic Level B ($102,474- $121,690) or Level C ($125,531 - $144,750) + 17% Super

About the Role
As the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy you will be expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the school, in the discipline of Pharmacy.  More specifically, you are responsible for carrying out teaching activities within the undergraduate program and for maintaining and advancing your scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities.  You will also be expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links, and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities.  You will be expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation. You may also be responsible for course coordination.

About You

To be successful for level B appointment, you will have (but not limited to):

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at an undergraduate level, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials.

  • Ability to undertake course coordination role.

  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.

  • Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links.

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates.

In addition to the above, to be successful for level C appointment you will have (but not limited to):

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate large courses and prepare and deliver programs at an undergraduate level, including high quality curriculum and program materials and ability to implement innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement.

  • Experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to deliver high quality outcomes, attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort and manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to management of academic program teams, supporting scholarly development of less experienced academic staff.

  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes, and targets within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications for Level B & C: PhD or equivalent in relevant field.

Registered Pharmacist (AHPRA registration)

About the School

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences comprises three Academic areas (Allied Health, Applied Health, and Biomedical Sciences).  Primarily based at the RMIT Bundoora campus, we undertake teaching and research across nine  disciplines:  Chinese  Medicine,  Chiropractic,  Human  Biosciences,  Laboratory  Medicine,  Medical Radiations,  Nursing,  Osteopathy,  Pharmacy  and  Psychology.   Many  of  our  programs  include  Work  Integrated Learning as an intrinsic part of student learning, both through placements in partner industries and through the University’s student led Health Sciences Clinic located at Bundoora.
