  • The position is located at our St Albans Campus and Sunshine Clinical School.

About the role

The Nursing Lecturer Level B is responsible for the day-to-day learning of undergraduate students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery/Bachelor of Nursing. The successful applicant will develop and deliver class materials to nursing students, and coordinate nursing units in the nursing and midwifery programs, including practice placement units. The successful applicant requires excellent communication and collaborative skills as the lecturer will work with other academics, sessional staff and university staff across learning and teaching, and research activities. The lecturer should possess recent clinical experience in nursing practice and undertaking research related to the discipline and/or healthcare.

An example of duties you may perform will include:

  • Student learning and teaching activities including workshop, laboratory and simulated-learning sessions, including coordinating unit content and delivery.
  • Undertaking and/or leading research within nursing to inform the knowledge base of the discipline. 
  • Participating in unit development and professional activities associated with the Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery/Bachelor of Nursing, and other courses, as required.

This is a full-time continuing position at an Academic B, $105,662- $125,472 plus 17% classification working 36.75 hours per week.

About the person:

The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced Registered Nurse with experience in learning and teaching of nurses. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential, as well as having demonstrated commitment to working with students to develop their professional capabilities. The successful applicant will hold a Masters of Nursing qualification, and preferably be working towards a PhD.
