  • Level B - TRP $117,562 - $138,831 pro rata per annum inclusive of 17% superannuation

About the position

The successful candidate for this Teaching Focused role will manage and teach into Criminology and Law subjects taught by the Law School. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with colleagues, develop curriculum, coordinate subjects, set and mark assessment, teach lectures and tutorials and generally contribute to the high-quality delivery of Criminology and Law subjects in the Law School.

Priority will be given to applicants with teaching and research or professional expertise in one or more of the following subject areas:

  • Crime Prevention and Policy (taught in the Bachelor of Criminology)
  • Cybercrime (taught in the Bachelor of Criminology and Juris Doctor)
  • Family Violence Across the Life Course (taught in the Bachelor of Criminology)
  • Introduction to Forensic Psychology and the Law (taught in the Bachelor of Criminology)
  • Principles of Criminal Law (taught in the Bachelor of Laws)

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • PhD degree or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
  • Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively, collaboratively and productively with staff and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
