About the role:

The Faculty of Science and Technology drives the University’s renewed focus on the science and technology disciplines to produce courses that meet the rapidly changing demands of the job market. The School of Information Technology and Systems (ITS) is seeking a Lecturer in Robotics Engineering to bolster its growing engineering programs. The position will bring specialised expertise in Robotics Engineering, facilitating teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses focused on robot perception, localisation and mapping, and Human-Robot Interaction. Alongside conducting high-quality research, the appointee will support course accreditation efforts and maintain collaborative links with industry, professional bodies, and government entities.

 

As an (ER) Education/ Research focused position, the primary responsibilities include fostering teaching excellence, recruiting and supervising research candidates, cultivating local and international industry relationships, and contributing to program development. The broad development the faculty is keen to expand on and in which this position will play a pivotal role in progressing are robotic design, robotic dynamics, algorithmic robotics, control systems, human robot interactions and industrial robotics & systems. The University of Canberra has a collaborative robotics research centre which this position will be able to utilise and contribute in advancing the exciting and evolving robotics engineering environment.

The successful applicant will have a PhD in the field as a compulsory requirement with proven experience teaching and researching in robotics engineering.
