Griffith Health is one of the largest and most diverse single academic Health faculties in the Australian University sector. The Health Group consists of eight schools (Allied Health Sciences, Applied Psychology, Dentistry and Oral Health, Human Services and Social Work, Medicine, Medical Science, Nursing and Midwifery, and Pharmacy) and provides an extensive array of high quality and innovative education programs ranging from the enabling biomedical and social health sciences to professional and clinical disciplines. The School of Applied Psychology currently has 51 academic staff and a number of research fellows across two campuses (Gold Coast and Mount Gravatt), whose teaching and research interests span organisational, clinical, cognitive, social, developmental forensic, health and experimental psychology.
You will have a developing research profile, will be highly committed to teaching excellence, and will actively and effectively supervise Honours and postgraduate research student projects. The position will commence with a Teaching and Researchprofile of which the appointee will be required to undertake teaching and research in their chosen area of expertise and contribute to the School’s teaching and scholarship outcomes including teaching excellence and engagement activities.
This is a full time, continuing position, commencing in January 2020. This role can be based at either the Gold Coast or the Mt Gravatt campus, however the successful applicant will be expected to do some teaching and / or supervision at their non-resident campus as required.
The appointee will have a PhD in Psychology with demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in teaching psychology in one or more of the areas of child clinical psychology, child disability, or developmental psychology. They must have a proven ability in the administration of University courses and be able to supervise Honours and postgraduate research students. The appointee will also demonstrate capacity to conduct and publish quality research, with evidence of high quality papers and national and international impact of research with the capacity to contribute to an area of research strength in the School. Further the appointee will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and readiness to contribute to both the School and University.
Lecturer (Level B): $94,361 - $112,057 per annum. Salary packing including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $110,402 - $131,106 per annum.
