Offer Description
  • Based in the Allied Health and Human Performance Unit at the City East campus
  • Part-time (0.8FTE), fixed term contract until 30 July 2025
  • Commencement Salary: $96,929 pro rata per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role 

This position is primarily focussed on the preparation and delivery of teaching and associated administrative duties within the Academic Unit’s undergraduate and /or postgraduate programs. The Lecturer in Occupational Therapy utilises contemporary professional/discipline-related knowledge in their teaching practice and carries out activities to develop scholarly expertise.

Core Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of courses (as appropriate) and work with the team in the development of program change and innovation including flexible and online delivery
  • Apply research and scholarship to the development of courses, including investigating and developing alternative teaching methods and the initiation and development of new material
  • Undertake course coordination (as required)
  • Facilitate the connections between research and teaching and vice versa
  • Contribute to Academic Unit and University activities, particularly in relation to planning and administration (where appropriate)

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy together with relevant clinical experience and registration or eligibility for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of South Australia
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in contemporary Occupational Therapy
  • Ability to undertake a range of teaching duties including the preparation of appropriate teaching materials and resources and the ability to actively engage and educate a student group
  • Demonstrated experience with a range of technologies and administration appropriate for a contemporary university environment
  • Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal ability, written and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a member of a diverse team
