About the Roles

Reporting directly to the Professorial Lead, these roles are responsible for contributing to the development, delivery and coordination of courses within the Academic Unit’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The position will contribute independently and as part of a team to support enhance the Academic Units teaching, scholarship and research outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver courses on campus, online or via other appropriate methods such as maintaining the quality of the courses through course review and development
  • Contribute to the activities of the Academic Unit by undertaking scholarship in areas of teaching and learning practice
  • Enhance the Academic Unit’s research profile through collaborative initiatives with other organisations
  • Supervise/co-supervise postgraduate and higher degree students (as negotiated)
  • Work collaboratively and reciprocally with staff in other Academic Units and other partner organisations to ensure that courses contain quality content

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor of Nursing and a PhD degree qualification in a relevant health discipline
  • A demonstrated contribution to the profession and/or discipline of nursing and understanding of global and national policies and priorities in health and nursing practice
  • Demonstrated academic experience teaching students engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate health and/or nursing programs and in using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies
  • Experience in the administration of university academic courses and ability to interpret and apply university policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively interact and engage with relevant stakeholders including students, industry, government, university and community groups
