About the Role

Contribute to Flinders University’s design and teaching of a range of topics across our Initial Teacher degrees, primarily in English and Literacy topics. As a Lecturer and Teaching Specialist, you will use innovative practices and technologies to make an independent contribution to teaching focussed on student success. You will be involved in curriculum design and review, topic planning and evaluation, academic counselling, professional development of students and utilising technology innovations to conduct inspiring teaching that enhances to student experience. Other University responsibilities include maintaining professional development, attending College meetings, and promoting opportunities for graduate employability.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced, excellent teacher at a tertiary level. You will have contributed to learning and teaching approaches which enhance student success in a school or tertiary setting. You are an excellent communicator in all formats, particularly in your ability to establish relationships with students, staff, and industry partners. You will have a completed or be near completion of a PhD or EdD, or equivalent qualification or professional standing.

In addition, you will also demonstrate:

  • Evidence of successful and independent innovation in learning and teaching delivery or design, including contemporary and innovative teaching modalities.

  • Evidence of professional development of teaching including peer or supervisor reviews of teaching and/or external accreditation processes.

  • A contribution to academic quality assurance processes, such as curriculum, topic, or course reviews.

  • A good understanding of appropriate assessment techniques – including feedback.

  • Experience with engagement within a relevant external professional domain and within a wider community context at local, national, or international level which could include working parties, committees, professional associations, and conferenced workshops.
