About the Role

The Lecturer (Teaching and Research) contributes to the planning, delivery and evaluation of lectures, tutorials, and laboratory-based teaching strategies, primarily within the suite of undergraduate and/or postgraduate topics/courses in the Government discipline. You will harness your expertise in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Public Administration and/or Comparative Politics to deliver inspiring and innovative teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience.

You will also have a focus on ethical, high quality and innovative research and evaluation through activities such as scholarship, quality publication, external grant acquisition and presentation that aligns with the College areas of research strength.  Your strong understanding of the nexus between teaching, learning, research, and scholarship will be reflected in your ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with a range of stakeholders, including industry and professional associations and organisations.

About You

With your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you will maintain strong relationships with diverse staff, students, and industry stakeholders. Your natural ability to collaborate and engage with relevant external professional domains, will develop productive partnerships that can provide opportunities to students and promote graduate employability.  With your comprehensive knowledge of industry needs, and demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching, you will harness your high-quality written communication skills to develop curricula, and coordinate topics. Your keen attention to detail will allow you to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines while always demonstrating a commitment to high quality service delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced lecturer in a tertiary environment, with a completed PhD, or equivalent qualification. You will have a strong research track record in various areas within the Government discipline.
