The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for a newly appointed Lecturer to contribute to the research and education effort of the School of Chemistry, within the Faculty of Science at Monash. You will lead a research program in Chemistry that is aligned with the strategic priorities of the school in clean energy and sustainable chemistry. This research program should contribute to the School’s Strategic Priorities and the University’s long-term vision as outlined in the Impact 2030 statement.

As a Lecturer, you will lead and participate in innovative teaching programmes, including the initiation and development of subject and course material (with the appropriate advice and support of more senior staff), workshops, tutorials, e-learning, and group teaching. You will be required to undertake year level and/or unit coordination, assessment, student consultation, and supervision and mentoring of PhD students, Postdoctoral Fellows and Early Career Researchers. You will engage in collaboration with other research groups, establish a strong independent programme of research, supported through National Competitive Research Grants schemes and other research income sources.

The successful candidate will have a doctoral qualification Chemistry, a demonstrated track record of research achievements in the chemical sciences relevant to clean energy and a strong record of teaching experience in a tertiary environment. You will have strong interpersonal skills and a well-developed ability to convey information in both teaching and research.
