- Commencement Salary: $93,165 (Level A)/$104,838 (Level B) per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
About the Role
The University of South Australia continues to enhance supports for our Aboriginal students and staff to position the University of South Australia as a University of Choice for Aboriginal Peoples in South Australia and beyond by 2025. This newly created role, based in the UniSA Allied Health & Human Performance Academic Unit will be responsible for contributing to the teaching, scholarship, research and professional activities of the Academic Unit.
The position will be primarily focussed on Aboriginal Health curriculum
development and pedagogies, as well as the provision of advice on these
areas in relation to the Academic Unit’s undergraduate and/or
postgraduate programs.

Essential Requirements and Experience
Applicants must identify as an Australian Aboriginal person and possess understanding of the issues impacting on the learning of Aboriginal tertiary students from diverse backgrounds.
The level of appointment will be dependent on the experience, skills and qualifications of the successful applicant.
LEVEL A
- A bachelor’s degree in a Health-related field and relevant industry/discipline experience in Aboriginal culture/health/research
- Ability to undertake a range of teaching duties and the ability to actively engage and educate a student group
- High level written and oral communication skills and the capability to use the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum delivery
- The ability to enhance the research profile of the Academic Unit through collaborative research
LEVEL B
- PhD qualification in a relevant discipline, and relevant industry/discipline experience in Aboriginal culture/health/research
- Capacity and commitment to high quality, flexible teaching and learning outcomes, in both traditional and contemporary modes
- An established early research record or a developing research track record and demonstrated experience in writing for publication
- Demonstrated capacity to contribute to, and build upon, the established research and scholarship strengths of the Academic Unit
