About the Role
As a Teaching Specialist and Lecturer in Health Sciences you will contribute to student success and learning innovation in content. You will deliver excellence in teaching through contributing to other disciplines within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, among Flinders’ other Colleges. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you will strengthen partnerships for learning and research. as well as managing workflows and providing guidance for staff under their supervision.
Teaching responsibilities of the role include creating and coordinating inspiring teaching approaches that enhance the student experience and contributing to the planning and evaluation of topics. You will review and design curricula that excites new students and encourages critical thinking and provide professional advice to students concerning their studies and career. Other University responsibilities include maintaining professional development, attending College meetings, and promoting opportunities for graduate employability. This role does not include research requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced, excellent teacher at a tertiary level. You will have contributed in experience to innovative learning, student assessment, and understand curriculum reviews. You are an excellent communicator in all formats, particularly in your ability to establish relationships with students, staff, and industry partners. You will have completed a PhD or EdD or equivalent qualification in a relevant health related discipline as well as membership in a relevant professional association.
In addition, you will also demonstrate:
Evidence of excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level in areas associated with one or more of the following: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health, digital health, health psychology, LGBTQIA+ health, pharmacology.
An understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, scholarship, and practice.
A commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture for all.
Evidence of reflective practice and upholding the values of Flinders University.
Experience in leading the activities of staff, preparing international and short course content for teaching, and using innovative technologies for teaching (desirable).
Knowledge of course accreditation requirements as appropriate (desirable).
