  • Base Salary from $118,390 pro rata + 17% superannuation + dental loading for eligible candidates

The Sydney Dental School is seeking to appoint a part time Lecturer (Education Focused).

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • undertake independent teaching in discipline, area of expertise or related area

  • engages in high-quality teaching and learning experiences (at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level) which meet the University’s expectations and standards for education-focused staff

  • design and deliver quality educational units of study and experiences that support student needs and meet curriculum requirements

  • maintain currency in the discipline and develops knowledge of contemporary, discipline-specific pedagogical practice

  • develop educational resources which reflect contemporary and innovative practices in the discipline.

  • contributes to administrative activities of the discipline of Tooth Conservation and/or Unit of Study

About you

  • A BDS/DMD or equivalent primary qualification allowing for registration as a dental practitioner with general registration in Australia

  • a relevant graduate degree (desirable)

  • a proven ability, commitment and passion for engaging in scholarly activities to inform innovative pedagogical practice

  • demonstrated capacity to stimulate, actively engage and educate an audience using a range of media

  • deep and broad experience in teaching and learning in a tertiary environment, as evidenced by participation in team teaching within an established program and experience in teaching in a variety of settings

  • demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives

  • developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders

  • experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
