We have a unique opportunity for a Lecturer to teach and undertake research in the area of nutrition with the following key responsibilities:

  • Deliver student focused learning and teaching to undergraduate students in nutrition.
  • Conduct digital and face to face seminars, tutorials, workshops, student field excursions/work integrated learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum innovation and content design.
  • Undertake nationally competitive and high-quality Scholarship of teaching and learning in discipline/field.
  • Disseminate scholarship of findings through seminars, workshops and conferences.
  • Contribute to academic service, collegiality and engagement, including efficient management of internal service roles.
  • Contribute to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment. Model a high standard of professional behaviour. consistent with the University Code of Conduct and Vision, Mission and Values.

We are looking for someone with

  • A doctoral qualification or undertaking a PhD or Masters in a relevant field of nutrition and dietetics or equivalent is preferred.  
  • Eligibility for Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) or Registered Public Health Nutritionist (RPHNutr) as recognised by the Nutrition Society of Australia and/or Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with qualifications recognised by Dietitians Australia.
  • Relevant research and teaching experience in nutrition science, nutrition epidemiology and/or public health nutrition.
  • Demonstrated high level teaching skill and a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching delivery.
  • A strong understanding  of  pedagogical theory and   contemporary   educational   practice relevant to nutrition and a record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
  • An emerging record of scholarship of teaching and learning outputs/creative works in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience / capacity to undertake the unit coordination role.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development and supportive working environment.
  • The ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
