0.2 FTE fixed term contract available in Port Augusta until 31st December 2024 with a possibility to extend.
The Adelaide Rural Clinical School (ARCS) position will be responsible for formal paediatric teaching in the Year 5 rural course. This includes online scenario based teaching, and clinical simulation intensives based in rural locations, particularly Port Pirie.
The successful applicant will work with the University of Adelaide rural paediatric and rural generalist clinical academics to support the development of course materials, provide online tutorials to rural students and undertake student assessments. This role provides an opportunity to work in rural SA while being part of an energetic and committed academic unit.
Biannual travel to Port Pirie is required in order to actively participate in clinical simulation and assessment.
To be successful you will need:
- Postgraduate qualification in Paediatrics and currently working clinically in this specialty in the ARCS rural footprint.
- Demonstrated experience in medical education or equivalent experience in clinical teaching of medical students.
- Demonstrate commitment to working with Aboriginal staff, students and health professionals to close the gap in health and educational outcomes.
- Capacity to participate in formal teaching and clinical assessment of medical students.
- High level interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
This position requires a valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
