Remuneration: $87,282 - $94,211 pa HEW Level 06 (plus 17% employer superannuation)

Monash Learning and Teaching oversees programs of work which advance learning and teaching priorities across the University. Situated within this, the Education Design and Development Unit activates the strategic intent of the University around Education, through programs which support design and development of teaching, learning and assessment in units and courses. It builds teaching and assessment capability among staff and teams who lead units, courses and programs. It supports the digital platforms that enable high quality and active teaching, learning and assessment and prepares staff and students to engage with them. It monitors and reports on education data to identify trends in unit performance across Faculties. It collaborates with teams and contributes to work situated in Monash Learning and Teaching in support of strategic Portfolio priorities and programs.

The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Monash Education Design and Development Unit as a Learning Designer. The Learning Designer will work collaboratively within a team to support academics, educational designers and other staff to create and build rich and dynamic, student-centred learning activities and resources for on campus and online environments. The Learning Designer will create learning activities within the learning management system and/or using other educational technologies in use at the University.

The role will include:

  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on the development and delivery of resources in units or other programs, providing advice on design and building learning resources and other materials, and publish content and multimedia assets to University learning and content management systems
  • Working with stakeholders to design, create, edit and publish physical and virtual learning materials, including e-publications, videos, photos, interactive materials, written and graphic elements for use in the University
  • Providing support to the Portfolio of the DVCE in key strategic priorities and develop and publish education/ teaching and learning resources including modules, webpages, and multimedia elements
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, including privacy legislation, ESOS regulations, W3C web publishing standards, accessibility guidelines and requirements

The successful incumbent will have a degree with experience and expertise in learning material production, or extensive relevant experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields in higher education.
