We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Lead Designer to join our Marketing Services team. You’ll supervise and mentor a small in-house design team and lead the delivery of a wide range of advertising, marketing and corporate materials produced in-house or in conjunction with appointed agencies.  This is a unique opportunity to bring together your wide-ranging design skills, team leadership, brand management and creativity in a fast-paced and rewarding role.  What’s more you’ll enjoy working with well-established workflow systems and processes, an experienced team that’s empowered to get on with the job, and the flexibility to fit work around life when you need it.

 

Playing a key role in the University’s marketing and communication activities, our Lead Designer both undertakes and oversees the effective design and dispatch of a wide variety of high-volume, high-quality collateral that adheres to brand guidelines, including but not limited to:

  • Digital: digital display advertising, design for social media output, eDM development, campaign assets, video editing and production.
  • Print: publications, flyers, posters, infographics, signage, merchandise branding

 

The position also plays a key role in:

  • the continual development of the CQUniversity brand and design related strategic planning
  • working collaboratively with inhouse and agency teams to contribute to ongoing campaign performance and design related decision making
  • leading the effective management and ongoing improvement of in-house design related production management systems, processes, and licences.

Position Requirements

 

  • Minimum four years industry experience preferably in-house or agency marketing as a digital/graphic designer
  • Adobe CC Suite (intermediate to advanced competency essential in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Animate and Premiere)
  • Designing/producing collateral for both print and online use
  • Production of HTML5 display advertising
  • Video editing and production
  • Proven ability to initiate, develop and implement design and/or digital marketing projects
  • Project and team management experience
  • A thorough understanding of brand management (including the use of corporate brand guidelines) and marketing principles
  • Evidence of a keen desire to keep up-to-date with the latest and future trends in design and marketing
