UWA is making significant investments in Information and Technology Services to enable its strategic direction and goals.  UWA is also looking to utilise technology advancements to expand its services and create new and innovative teaching and research models.

Robust, flexible, integrated, and agile enterprise architecture, information and technology services are vital to enabling the University’s strategic objectives.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will work independently and manage the development and delivery of IT business readiness, stakeholder engagement and communication activities related to the digital program’s technology initiatives, resulting in the successful implementation of new services, products and systems. You will work closely and consult with the IT Portfolio team and business stakeholders to communicate planning and design for changes (technical and business) to ensure the adoption of new solutions and associated processes.

About you 

This position will see you representing the digital program to the University on IT’s behalf, so your ability to present yourself in a friendly, approachable and professional manner is crucial to success. You will have practical experience in liaising with stakeholder groups across the University, and understand the organisation’s structure in order to affect the required changes in process, behaviour and technology that the digital program of works will introduce. You will understand effective communication techniques and tailoring messaging to various stakeholder groups, and can leverage these skills to assist the University in meeting its strategic goals through the successful delivery of digital program initiatives.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency
  • Experience in change and communications management in large, complex and diverse organisations. Certification in a formal change management methodology such as ProSci is desirable but not required.
  • The ability to build positive stakeholder relationships whilst always remaining fully customer focused, paired with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of change management and the impact change has on people and processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set and manage competing priorities and to meet deadlines.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Higher Education sector is desirable.
