Megan: A reward for all my hard work

The scholarship meant a lot for my confidence and self-esteem, and it felt like a reward for all my hard work. It recognised all of my efforts in VCE and my community service. It has opened up so many opportunities to me that would not have otherwise been available, and has started to shape my career and have had a big influence on my personal goals and motivations. In 10 years, I hope to be either practicing in criminal law, family law or personal injury. I hope to be able to work pro bono matters to give back to the community.

Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:

• An Australian citizen
• A New Zealand citizen
• Australian permanent resident
• Australian humanitarian visa holder

You must meet the following criteria:

• Current student enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree in the Faculty of Law at a Monash campus in Australia.
• Participating in one of the following student mobility programs in the Faculty of Law:
  • Faculty Managed Internships
  • External/Student Organised Internships
  • Prato Law Program
  • Malaysia Law Program
• From a low income background .

Benefits

• $500 - $2000 one-off payment.

• Based on need.

How to apply

• Cannot be deferred.
• This scholarship is awarded once each calendar year. Recipients may be awarded this scholarship in multiple years, however it must be used for a different program (for example Prato, Malaysia or an internship) on each occasion.
