  • This is a part-time (60%), continuing position with FTE salary in the range $61,107 - $62,539, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

  • Based at our St Lucia campus


About This Opportunity 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Law Clerk to support UQ's in-house legal team. This is a great opportunity to start your career in the law. Training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Conducting legal research and compiling findings for lawyers.

  • Assisting lawyers with the conduct of matters, including:

    • communicating with clients as requested.

    • reviewing legal documents to identify issues.

    • preparing chronologies and briefs to counsel; and

    • drafting and collating legal documents (primarily agreements and advices).

  • Assisting with the drafting and updating of legal templates and client materials.

  • Providing legal-related administrative support as required.

  • Undertaking other tasks as requested.


About You  

  • Demonstrated legal study and/or experience working in a legal practice.

  • Demonstrated ability to undertake legal research and present findings in a well-formed and logical manner.

  • Thorough knowledge of legal databases and resources.

  • Strong communication skills, Microsoft 365 proficiency, effective time management, and attention to detail.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
