About the Role
The IT Capital and Governance Lead works collaboratively across the IT function and with Finance colleagues to set a clear IT investment (capital) planning process, aligned to the University’s annual business planning cycle. You will also work with executive stakeholders, project and operational teams to champion effective IT governance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the annual IT investment (capital) planning cycle, liaising with executive stakeholders, and developing information gathering requirements for project teams.
- Ensuring consistent project delivery practices by managing tools and templates, facilitating information flow, and providing clear guidance.
- Maintaining key IT resources, supporting Communities of Practice, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a communication whiz with a passion for technology-led business outcomes! You will craft clear, compelling messages for all audiences (technical and non-technical) and thrive in navigating a large, complex organisation. A curious mind and an eye for detail are key, as you'll work across teams to develop high-quality reports and presentations for senior audiences. Bonus points for experience with IT project methodologies!
You will also have:
- A degree in commerce/business, information technology or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Exceptional written communication skills particularly in preparing high quality materials for senior stakeholders that convey complex information effectively
- Demonstrated ability to collect, analyse and synthesise technical and business information.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
