Overview

Digital and Campus Services provides a responsive, integrated and customer-orientated service that brings together the digital and physical environments for students and staff, supporting their teaching, learning, research and administrative needs.

The IT Business Engagement team is responsible for engaging with the University to understand present and future demands for IT that support the University’s teaching, learning, research and professional outcomes. As an advocate, advisor and escalation point the IT Business Engagement team maintains relationships across the University to identify common needs and opportunities and incorporate these into operational or project pipelines. The team also provides Business Analysis services to digital projects and programs in delivery.

The Role

You will play a key role on our Network Replacement Project working with business areas and stakeholders to elicit and refine business requirements and project deliverables. You may also be assigned to other pipeline digital initiatives. You will be responsible for all aspects of business analysis such as requirements definition, appropriate documentation, process analysis and mapping, workshop facilitation, communicating to all levels of the University and ensuring the solution is aligned to business outcomes. You will be a self-starter and have experience working on projects with technical and delivery teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a business analyst working on technology-based projects using appropriate methodologies, tools and techniques
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills at all levels and cross business units, to elicit, document and validate high-quality requirements and understand business needs
  • Solid experience in requirements definition, user story development and documenting process diagrams using formal process notation
  • Experience working with technical resources to clarify scope and requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills including comfort with leading outcome focussed workshops and presenting to all levels of the organisation 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to synthesise complex topics in a succinct and clear manner to both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Familiarity with tools such as Confluence and JIRA

Benefits & Remuneration

This full time, fixed term position attracts remuneration of $106,877 - $120,376 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
