Job Description

This is a full-time position at a HEW 5, $71,012 - $81,568 classification plus 17% superannuation, working 36.75 hours per week over a fixed term contract period (if fixed term, 30/09/2025).

About the role

The overall purpose of the International Student Officer is to provide excellent customer service to prospective international students and key stakeholders, through the provision of accurate and appropriate information and assistance.  The position is responsible to process student applications and payments and deliver excellent customer service in response to enquiries received face-to-face, electronically (e.g. email and Facebook) and telephone.

About the person
Successful applicants will be:

  • degree qualified in a relevant discipline or have significant previous administrative experience in a related field
  • have broad knowledge of the Australian education system and government policy affecting international students.
  • Demonstrated commitment and capacity to deliver high quality client/customer service.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to determine priorities, schedule work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment and capacity to deliver high quality client/customer service.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrated commitment and capacity to deliver quality client/customer service in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team, together with the capability to work alone/independently.

Duties

An example of duties you may perform will include:

  • Deliver excellent customer service, as the first point of contact for international students and visitors, in response to enquiries received face-to-face, electronically (e.g. email and Facebook) and telephone.
  • Process student applications and payments, including tuition fees and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), updating relevant databases and records.
  • Provide general information and factual advice to prospective international students and generate standard correspondence to routine enquiries.
