About the role

The overall purpose of the International Student Officer is to provide excellent customer service to prospective international students and key stakeholders, through the provision of accurate and appropriate information and assistance. This service is provided face-to-face, electronically and via the phone.

An example of duties you may perform will include:

  • Deliver excellent customer service, as the first point of contact for international students and visitors, in response to enquiries received face-to-face, electronically (e.g. email and Facebook) and telephone.
  • Provide general information and factual advice to prospective international students and generate standard correspondence to routine enquiries.
  • Update and maintain databases and generate relevant reports.
  • Support the implementation of conversion campaigns aimed at prospective international students.

This is a full-time position at a HEP5 classification $73,852 - $84,831 plus 17% superannuation, working 36.75 hours per week. This is a maternity cover position on a fixed-term 12-month contract.  

About the person

Successful applicants will have:

  • a degree-level qualification and/or relevant administrative and customer service experience in a related field.
  • proficiency in, or capacity to learn, all aspects of standard office software and university-based systems. 
  • demonstrated commitment and capacity to deliver high quality client/customer service.
  • excellent organisational skills with the ability to determine priorities, schedule work to meet deadlines.
  • well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.
