(HE07) $95,017 - $106,270 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Part time (0.5 FTE), fixed term contract available until 31 December 2024 for an International Student Advisor to join the Student Experience team.

The International Student Advisor is responsible for providing services to assist international students during key transition periods (e.g. arrival in Adelaide, first semester of enrolment, and graduation). The International Student Advisor will provide assistance to help students adjust to the cultural and learning environment and assist students to resolve problems. The International Student Advisor will also work with individuals and groups to facilitate positive educational and personal outcomes.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with people to problem solve personal issues and resolve complex situations, with empathy and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse language and cultural backgrounds, with respect.
  • Experience in delivering engaging and professional presentations to large cohorts, tailoring each presentation to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated capacity to meet competing and demanding deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the ESOS Act and affiliated National Code of Practice and a working knowledge of the student visa program as it pertains to students in higher education.

The successful candidate should have knowledge of the Australian tertiary sector, and particularly a well-developed understanding of the issues facing international students.

Knowledge of Chinese culture and language would be highly regarded.

This position requires a valid Working with Children Check.
