About the opportunity

We are in a period of exciting and significant change in our Information Communication and Technology function as we strive to meet the ever-increasing demand for more and improved IT services. As a result, we are seeking an experienced Integration Designer - API to join our ICT Enterprise Integration Practice team.

In this position, you will be responsible for producing the integration design in the MuleSoft platform to deliver business critical functions for the University. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders such as project managers, business analysts, solutions designers, solution architects, Integration practice specialists etc., to build a robust integration solution that adheres to governance and best practices.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide architectural and design expertise in large, complex environments and provide leadership and guidance in the creation of API roadmaps
  • define a direction for various API strategies for the continued success of the Integration Practice
  • utilise your extensive knowledge and strong experience with the MuleSoft product suite as well as expert experience with Cloud technologies to perform detailed requirements analysis, software design, development, testing, and deployment
  • take ownership of the definition and delivery of our technology architecture strategy
  • play an active role in supporting the Integration Governance Review Board standards and controls
  • provide guidance to ensure development, implementation, and review activities are completed as designed and according to standards.

About you

  • strong practical knowledge of MuleSoft technologies and the Anypoint Platform including Cloudhub, VPC, VPN, load balancing, etc.
  • proven track record of delivery including working on a project from pre-inception through to business and technical delivery in an Agile delivery environment.
  • ability to collaborate, coach and guide integration Practice team members, internal and external customers, and stakeholders on the best integration design approach.
  • strong knowledge of API security and different ways to secure APIs.
  • strong practical knowledge of integration design patterns, governance best practices, API design using RAML or OAS. Experience using the Design Centre and utilizing the API Led and API design first principles.
