Funded by the Australian Government since 1984, the Marine National Facility (MNF) provides a keystone element of the nation’s research infrastructure by providing the only blue-water research capability available in Australia.  The 94m research vessel, Investigator was commissioned in 2014-15 and is available for multidisciplinary research in the oceans and seas around Australia, from the tropics to the Antarctic ice-edge. 


As a Scientific Instrumentation Engineer or Technician for the MNF, you will work at sea aboard the RV Investigator. With a primary focus on contributing to successful research voyages and delivering scientific outcomes for the MNF and its clients, you will operate and maintain scientific equipment on the research vessel and ashore.  To be successful, you will draw on your mechanical aptitude, have good knowledge of electronics and instrumentation and bring strong problem solving abilities to the role.
