Aged Care Research and Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA)

is funded by the Australian Government, Department of Health & Aged Care, to empower Australia’s aged care sector with the knowledge, skills and capability it needs to implement evidence-based practice and to adopt technologies that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of care delivery.

The Aged Care Partnering Program (ACPP) forges collaboration and connections between aged care workforce and organisations, researchers, technology innovators and professionals, transforming ideas into impactful projects, products and services. It aims to advance technology incubation and innovation in aged care and supports consortiums to implement innovative solutions to solve problems by facilitating at the early ideation stage, through to supporting the development, implementation and commercialisation of products and services. ACPP, in collaboration with the Medical Device Partnering Program (MDPP), run the ARIIA x MDPP Ideas Incubator, which focusses on advancing ideas and innovations to support the aged care sector.
 

About the Role

We are seeking an Innovation Manager who will facilitate partnerships, coordinate, and lead the Ideas Incubator program, support the advancement of technology incubation and innovation and facilitate ARIIA’s Innovator Training Program.

This role also requires:

  • Managing and addressing initial client contacts and enquiries, meeting with clients and screening requests/proposals.

  • Sourcing and connecting clients to partners, stakeholders, experts and other networks as required.

  • Project management of strategic ARIIA projects.

  • Supporting collaborative design and development of solutions to real-world aged care problems by connecting the aged care and technology sectors.

  • Coordination and delivery of the ARIIA x MDPP Ideas Incubator program

  • Facilitating ARIIA’s Innovator Training Program for aged care workforce nationally, online and in person.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience working in aged care and implementing innovative solutions or projects within the aged care sector. You will have highly developed written and oral communication skills. You have experience in identifying, engaging, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, with the added capability to work effectively with senior executives from industry, government and university.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Facilitation experience.

  • High level of organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.

  • Ability to work with limited supervision with a sound use of initiative.

  • Project management experience.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accurate record keeping.

Completion of a relevant degree with experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.
