  • Two (2) Full-time, continuing positions based in Information Strategy and Technology Services at the Mawson Lakes campus
  • Commencement Salary: $71,205 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

As a technical expert within the Systems Infrastructure team, you will use sophisticated software to monitor critical servers, rectify issues with server and storage systems and build new servers. In addition, you will support technologies such as clustering and load balancing which provide the ability to maintain high levels of system availability. You need to diagnose access, permission and security issues related to applications and shared file resources.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, document and support infrastructure technologies associated with server and storage configuration and deployment
  • Develop, document, and adhere to standards for building, deploying, maintaining and supporting designated information technologies, services and applications
  • Install, support and administer designated MS Windows and Red Hat Linux based servers to provide a stable, consistent platform for other IT staff to install, develop and support designated applications
  • Utilise data management infrastructure including, server attached storage, storage area networks (SANs), Network Attached Storage (NAS), backup solutions and other technologies


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience in and commitment to, a high level of customer service and to working collaboratively in a team based environment, including interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people at all levels
  • Understanding and experience in the implementation of operating system and application level security in a complex information technology environment which integrates with the network architecture
  • Knowledge in the management of server virtualisation technologies
  • Ability to maintain, support and administer servers based on the Red Hat Linux operating system and MS Windows
