  • Part-time 0.4 - 0.6 FTE Negotiable, 2-Year Fixed Term Position
  • Salary Academic Level B ($105,548 - $125,341 p.a. pro rata) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
  • Located at Bundoora Campus
  • This role will support a committed applicant to develop and grow in a teaching role

About the Role

The Industry Fellow, Child and Family Health will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities within the Child and Family Health post graduate program and for maintaining and advancing scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. There will be a need to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links, and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. The Industry Fellow will be expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in Maternal and Child Health.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver courses at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials.
  • Capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.
  • Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative projects through effective liaison with industry and government.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff, and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Sound knowledge of the Victorian Maternal and Child Health service and contemporary issues.
  • Demonstrated professional practice within the previous five years and experience working within the higher education sector to deliver programs with a Child and Family Health focus.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.
  • Postgraduate qualifications (minimum Graduate Diploma in Child and Family Health).
  • Qualification at Master level or enrolled and have substantial progress in degree.

About the School of Health and Biomedical Sciences

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences comprises three Academic areas (Allied Health, Applied Health, and Biomedical Sciences). Primarily based at the RMIT Bundoora campus, we undertake teaching and research across ten disciplines: Chinese Medicine, Chiropractic, Exercise Science, Human Biosciences, Laboratory Medicine, Medical Radiations, Nursing, Osteopathy, Pharmacy and Psychology. Many of our programs include Work Integrated Learning as an intrinsic part of student learning, both through placements in partner industries and through the University's student led Health Sciences Clinic located at Bundoora.
