Overview:



  • Full-time, Fixed Term position until 19/04/2024 

  • Salary HEW 7 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements 

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD or Bundoora campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University 


 


About The Position: 


 
The Industry Engagement Coordinator STEM will provide efficient and effective industry engagement support for the recruitment of placement sites for students that support the health, wellbeing whilst also aligning to Program needs and College & University strategy and values. This role’s primary focus will be to liaise with industry professionals and College staff to source quality WIL placements. 


 


The Industry Engagement Coordinator STEM will also support WIL/Industry Engagement events for partners and develop marketing materials to recruit new WIL placement sites. This role will also be required to actively contribute to the team culture and seek continuous improvement of processes and systems, while also mitigating risk. 


 


To be successful in this position, you’ll have: 


 


  • Demonstrated ability to work and promote STEM college programs to the industry with a focus on WIL opportunities. 

  • Demonstrated communication, relationship building, and negotiation skills to work collaboratively with academic and professional staff, students, and external clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. 

  • Understanding of the industry sectors related to the STEM College programs and their relation to Work Integrated Learning. 

  • Exposure and knowledge of the industry growth areas related to the STEM college and their associated innovative ecosystem. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work across a business development workflow, including lead generation, conversion, and account/relationship management. 

  • Demonstrated ability to build and retain effective relationships at all levels within an organisation. 

  • Proven initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to act without specific direction where appropriate. 

  • Demonstrated administrative, organisational and time management skills with proven ability to re-adjust workload priorities to meet conflicting deadlines. 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer software packages, working with accuracy and attention to detail. 

  • Demonstrated high level capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency. 


 


Desirable 


  • Understanding of WIL in tertiary institutions will be beneficial. 

  • Experience using administrative and student-based systems and an understanding of policies and procedures within a tertiary education setting. 

  • Experience in using Salesforce, Smartsheets, Office 365 will be beneficial. 


 


Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.

The STEM College Office professional staff are instrumental in providing students with a transformative and enriched learning experience, and in supporting our research and engagement administration activities. Centralised in the STEM College Office, at our City and Bundoora campuses, professional staff members have opportunities to cross- skill, engage in professional development and develop their own career paths.
