A key responsibility will be to establish unsupervised data acquisition to generate large and unbiased data sets for fundamental, and applied research to feed into a pipeline of analysis.

The Organisation

The Biomedical Imaging Facility (BMIF) is a multi-user facility within the Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre (MWAC) in the Division of Research & Enterprise at UNSW. The facility is a platform for researchers to gain access to a comprehensive suite of advanced light and optical instrumentation and associated expertise. The facility supports and collaborates with a variety of research groups in the Faculties of Science, Medicine and Engineering at UNSW, as well as groups at other universities and research institutes in Australia and overseas.

UNSW isn’t like other places you’ve worked. Yes, we’re a large organisation with a diverse and talented community; a community doing extraordinary things. But what makes us different isn’t only what we do, it’s how we do it. Together, we are driven to be thoughtful, practical, and purposeful in all we do. Taking this combined approach is what makes our work matter. It’s the reason we’re Australia’s number one university for impact and among the nation’s Top 20 employers. And it’s why we come to campus each day.

Who you are

You have a PhD in biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, medical sciences or biophysics, as well as experience in advanced fluorescence microscopy, sample preparation, data collection and imaging analysis applied to biological problems in imaging, and a commitment to contribute to the research effort in the area of Systems Microscopy.  Please review the Position Description for all Skills and Experience required.
