Associate Director Portfolio Engagement & Success
Information and Digital Services (IDS)
Under the direction of the Associate Director, the role works closely with the portfolios community through the customer engagement and success model to deliver the identification, management and governance of portfolios related prioritises for IDS (including portfolios related projects).
The role engages with the portfolios community and conducts regular cycles of consultation whilst being located at key customer areas to build a deep understanding of the community’s planning and analytical priorities and activities.
The role works closely with the IDS leadership team and is active in engaging, supporting and planning IDS priorities to ensure portfolios related priorities are delivered, supported, maintained and evolved in a sustainable and scalable manner to meet the strategic needs of the University.

Key Position Responsibilities

The key position responsibilities include: 


Leadership 


  • Engaging regularly with key portfolios community customers and stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of their planning and analytical needs and translating that understanding back into IDS for prioritisation. 

  • Periodically participating in knowledge building activities and events to be aware of latest/best practices related to the role and to keep skills and knowledge up to date. 


Customer Engagement & Success 


  • Supporting the delivery of the portfolios related customer engagement and success model developed through ongoing consultation with key portfolios customers.   

  • Collaborating and coordinating with the Research and Education customer engagement and success models to ensure consistency, cohesiveness, and effectiveness across the three models and teams.  


Risk, Governance & Ways of Working 


  • Contributing to the governance model for IDS related activities and projects in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders, to support the ongoing review and prioritisation of IDS activities and to ensure all of IDS have a clear understanding of IDS related priorities at any point in time. 

  • Supporting where relevant the successful delivery of IDS Capital Infrastructure Program (CIP) projects that have benefits and/or outcomes for the research community at Flinders.  Supporting and/or facilitating the delivery of minor projects relating to the implementation or modification of systems and/or processes. 

  • Supporting any relevant strategic vendor relationships in accordance with University procurement policies. 

  • Supporting and maintaining an agile based way of working to manage, refine, and prioritise the activity backlog based on relevant customer and IDS priorities.   

  • Identifying, managing and mitigating risks related to the activities being undertaken by the role in line with IDS and Flinders University policies and procedures. 

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant IDS and Flinders University policies and procedures.  


Other Responsibilities 


  • Any other responsibilities in line with the level of the role as assigned by the Supervisor and/or the University. 


Key Position Capabilities

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in Information Technology or relevant technical area, and / or equivalent relevant experience in an IT environment.  

  • High level strategic thinking, planning and analytical skills to support outcomes and meet the University's strategic goals. 

  • Broad experience in building and managing customer relationships and expectations.   

  • Broad experience in agile ways of working including exposure to scaled agile methodologies and/or collaborating and delivering through a matrix structure. 

  • High level self-improvement and growth mindset/approach to the role and as part of a wider team. 

  • High level interpersonal influence and demonstrated ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with staff and customers across a diverse organisation particularly during the design, management and implementation of customer solutions.  

  • High level experience in effectively managing client relationships. 

  • Higher education experience advantageous.
