About the Information and Digital Services

Information and Digital Services (IDS) are a pivotal resource of the University, providing information and digital technology services and support to the Flinders University staff and student community. The IDS team apply technical expertise to support university projects and provide core services such as the IDS Service Desk, Audio visual, simulation and event services, Information security and identity access management services and more. 

We're continuing to grow our Information & Digital Services (IDS) Team at Flinders University, with 4 new positions available to commence ASAP, working on numerous exciting projects including the new Health and Medical Research Building and Festival Tower, as well as moving services to the cloud and other modernisation activities!

  • Under general direction, the role is responsible for the technical and operational implementation and support of the University’s cloud and infrastructure services.
  • IDS Infrastructure Officer – JR0000006476
  • Continuing, Full time
  • Under general direction, the role is responsible for the technical and operational support of the University’s cloud and infrastructure services. The role is also responsible for providing support to customers for cloud and infrastructure needs.

  • Under broad direction, the role is responsible for the technical and operational design, implementation, support and continuous improvement of the cloud and physical infrastructure for IDS and the University.

  • Under general direction, the role is responsible for the technical and operational support of the University’s cloud and infrastructure services. The role is also responsible for providing support to customers for cloud and infrastructure system needs.

    About the Role

    IDS are seeking an IDS Infrastructure Systems Officer to join their team. As an IDS Infrastructure Systems Officer, you will be responsible for providing support to customers for cloud and infrastructure needs. You will also be accountable for contributing to:

    • Technical Management & Support

    • Technical Vision & Road-Mapping

    • Risk & Governance.

    This is a perfect opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in developing or moving into an enterprise sized Infrastructure role focusing on the Microsoft 365 suite of tools include Exchange, Teams, SharePoint and InTune.

    About You

    Summary of the key capabilities.

    • Appropriate tertiary qualification in Information Technology or relevant technical area, and / or equivalent relevant experience in an IT environment.

    • Well-developed thinking, planning and analytical skills

    • General experience in agile ways of working including exposure to scaled agile methodologies and/or collaborating and delivering through a matrix structure.

    • Well-developed self-improvement and growth mindset/approach to the role and as part of a wider team.

    • Well-developed interpersonal influence and demonstrated ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with staff and customers across a diverse organisation particularly during the design, management and implementation of customer solutions.

    • General knowledge with server-based systems, virtual server environments and associated software.

    • General knowledge and experience with email systems, collaboration platforms and associated software.

    • General experience with virtual computing environments such as Citrix.

    • General knowledge with enterprise level endpoint management using management platforms.
