About the Information and Digital Services

Information and Digital Services (IDS) are a pivotal resource of the University, providing information and digital technology services and support to the Flinders University staff and student community. The IDS team apply technical expertise to support university projects and provide core services such as the IDS Service Desk, Audio visual, simulation and event services, Information security and identity access management services and more. 

We're continuing to grow our Information & Digital Services (IDS) Team at Flinders University, with 4 new positions available to commence ASAP, working on numerous exciting projects including the new Health and Medical Research Building and Festival Tower, as well as moving services to the cloud and other modernisation activities!

2 x Cloud Positions

  • Senior IDS Cloud and Infrastructure Officer – JR0000006480

  • Continuing, Full time

  • Under broad direction, the role is responsible for the technical and operational design, implementation, support and continuous improvement of the cloud and physical infrastructure for IDS and the University.

  • IDS Cloud and Infrastructure Officer - JR0000006475

  • Continuing, Full time

  • Under general direction, the role is responsible for the technical and operational support of the University’s cloud and infrastructure services. The role is also responsible for providing support to customers for cloud and infrastructure system needs.

2 x Modern Workplace Positions

  • Senior IDS Infrastructure Systems Officer – JR0000006478

  • Continuing, Full time

  • Under general direction, the role is responsible for the technical and operational implementation and support of the University’s Microsoft 365 environment including Exchange, Teams and SharePoint (to name a few) supporting communication and collaboration services throughout the University

  • IDS Infrastructure Officer – JR0000006476

  • Continuing, Full time        

  • Under general direction, the role is responsible for the technical and operational support of the University’s Microsoft 365 environment including Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint (to name a few). The role is also responsible for providing support to customers of the Digital Workplace & Collaboration Services team.

About the Role

IDS are seeking an IDS Cloud and Infrastructure Officer to join their team. As an IDS Cloud and Infrastructure Officer, you will be required to provide technical and operational support of the University’s cloud and infrastructure services. You will also be accountable for contributing to:

  • Technical Management & Support

  • Technical Vision & Road-Mapping

  • Risk & Governance.

This is a perfect opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in developing or moving into an enterprise sized Infrastructure role which offers excellent career growth opportunities.

About You

To be successful in obtaining employment with the IDS team, you will have:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in Information Technology or relevant technical area, and / or equivalent relevant experience in an IT environment

  • General knowledge experience with server-based systems and virtual server environments

  • General knowledge and experience with storage and backup systems

  • Some experience with cloud-based infrastructure an advantage
