UQ Human Resources is responsible for enabling achievement of the University's strategic ambitions through attracting, developing and retaining talented, engaged and high performing staff. This, in turn, enables University staff to better support our current and future students. Human Resources provides high quality human resource management guidance and expertise, through effective policy development, constructive advice and efficient administrative services. We are building a team of strategic HR professionals to provide outstanding, client focused, proactive and effective solutions and services for all UQ staff. Human Resources at UQ operates within a devolved environment with Human Resources staff located in Professional Services teams in Faculties, Research Institutes and Central Divisions, supported by HR specialist service teams.
The role
The HR Business Partner is the primary point of contact for the day-to-day delivery of the full range of HR advice and services to clients within the Central Portfolio, and is accountable for the operational management and delivery of HR advice and services by their Professional Services team. The role requires demonstrated experience in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of staff, as the HR Business Partner is responsible for managing a team of HR professionals, and for providing support and guidance. This includes identifying ways to continuously improve team performance, build capability that is aligned to current and future client needs, and work with team members to establish individual development plans focused on building technical HR skills and professional service capability.
The HR Business Partner contributes to the development of HR programs and interventions, and is involved in HR issues, such as the implementation of strategic workforce plans, employee relations, strategic recruitment, broader organisation development, and talent management. Using proven knowledge and experience in coaching, the HR Business Partner provides comprehensive guidance on the interpretation of HR policy framework. The HR Business Partner manages the escalation of key issues to the HR Relationship Manager, and collaborates with HR specialist teams and peers across the HR Community of Practice.
The person
Applicants should be showing progress towards post graduate qualifications with extensive experience in HR and management, particularly in building and maintaining productive client relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders. Excellent HR operational management, planning and analysis skills, with experience interpreting HR policy, compliance, risk frameworks, and enterprise agreements is highly desired, as is the ability to act as a trusted advisor for the end-to-end management of client operational needs.

Remuneration
This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,811.16 - $104,214.40 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $108,589.06 - $121,930.85 p.a.).
