Job Description 

BHP Minerals Australia Hosting Operations team are looking to recruit Computer Science (or similar) final year undergraduates or post graduates who are excited & eager to be part of a collaborative and inclusive workplace. The aim of this internship is to provide real world Technology experience and support students in their transition into a workplace on completion of their studies. We need your creative & resourceful insights to positively influence the future of BHP. This is an opportunity that will enrich & support your studies.

The Hosting Operations team provide support for storage, virtualization, compute, Windows, Linux and Citrix systems across more than 30 asset based sites and 2 data centres across Minerals Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to get in depth exposure to the mining sector as well as hands on experience handling requests (access requests, transition to support and decommissioning of servers) and low priority incidents (basic troubleshooting) for our environment.

We are a team that believes in providing opportunities to a broad and diverse talent pool. Shortlisted students will be asked to attend an interview to discuss in more detail their areas of interest and the nature of the internship.

This role will give you a solid grasp of work-life cycles and enhance your problem-solving and technical skills. Chosen candidates will be assigned a mentor who will explain the role & provide ongoing guidance & activities to support your outcome-based learning journey.

This will be a paid internship consisting of 4-5 days/week, that can be worked in a flexible manner (ie. weekends/part days) to accommodate university and lifestyle commitments.

  • Some knowledge of Windows, Linux or Active Directory would be highly considered.

Currently a Computer Science or similar undergraduate working towards completing an Australian Degree.

This role can amount up to $48,750 tax-free for an Undergraduate or Postgraduate working a minimum of 4 days a week for 12 months.
