- Base Salary starting form $163,505 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
This research-focused role involves conduct of health economic evaluations alongside randomised controlled trials. Working across a range of exciting clinical applications (e.g. genomics, perinatal medicine, cancer) for practice and policy change, with potential to develop new quantitative methods in modelling, microsimulation, data analysis, or discrete choice experiments; and supervise Higher Degree Research students.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- maintains a reputation for academic excellence and research profile including Q1 publications in peer-reviewed international journals or creative works recognised under Excellence in Research Australia (ERA)
- leads successful competitive grant applications, explores diverse funding opportunities
- lead participation in internationally funded research projects or partner engaged research projects, manages grant funding and projects
- develop new methods in pre-trial modelling, microsimulation, data analysis, or discrete choice experiments
- design and build economic and statistical models
- mentors and provides opportunities for other researchers to develop skills and engage in translational research
- provides effective leadership towards improvements in research outcomes
- leads strategic initiatives and partnerships with external organisations, including government, industry and/or community organisations
- engages in translational research with a view to establishing strong, impactful partnerships, research and development, commercialisation, improved practices and policy development.
About you
- PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline (e.g. economics, econometrics, statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, public health)
- advanced statistical computing skills in statistical and data science software (e.g. R, SAS, STATA)
- national or international reputation in their discipline or area of expertise, with a supporting research profile including competitive research grants, first author publications, invited talks and evidence of recognition within the broader research community.
- a wide network of established relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the discipline, School, Faculty and University.
- Experience in people leadership within the higher education sector, including demonstrated success in supervising HDR students and junior staff and/or mentoring others towards success.
