About the Role
UniSA has a long and proud history of international engagement, including significant transnational teaching partnerships in China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and an ambition to expand this transnational global footprint.
Reporting to the Pro Vice Chancellor: International within the UniSA International portfolio, this position is responsible for driving the University’s transnational strategy with a key focus of developing and managing UniSA’s current and prospective transnational education operations. This includes growing income from UniSA’s transnational activities, leading the development of new partner relationships, and working with key internal and external stakeholders in all aspects of partner negotiation for transnational education delivery.
Core Responsibilities
- Under broad direction of the PVC: International, lead and drive the transnational strategy and its implementation through the University’s international strategic planning and review processes
- Contribute to and oversee the strategy and framework for transnational business development in target markets, with a focus on new models and modes of learning, including scope for online, blended and partnered delivery models
- Develop effective working relationships with senior academic and administrative staff across the University’s Academic Units
- Lead and manage third-party engagement and relationships
- Lead a high-achieving, outwardly focused and service-oriented team in a challenging and relatively high-risk business environment
Essential Skills and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive professional experience and management expertise in transnational education, higher education offshore program delivery, or a related field
- Highly developed experience in contributing to and driving a transnational education strategy and framework, with a particular focus on new models and modes of learning, including scope for online, blended and partnered delivery models.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to interpret University and government policies, identify risks and provide advice to senior management
- Extensive experience leading and motivating staff and managing performance development
- Highly developed networking and business-related interpersonal skills, in particular, the ability to participate in and lead people at all levels within and outside of the University with cultural sensitivity and an international perspective
