The UNSW School of Physics is one of the leading Physics schools in Australia and is ranked in the World Top 100 (QS, 2024). The School of Physics offers a world class undergraduate physics degree, as well as a postgraduate PhD research program for over 50 students. Academic staff conduct theoretical and experimental research in quantum physics, astrophysics, fundamental physics, condensed matter physics and biophysics.  It has a leading group in Physics Education that researches and implements best educational practices.

About the role

  • Senior Level Appointment for the term plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Includes an underlying Academic position at Level D/E
  • Fixed Term – 3 or 5 years
  • Full-time (35 hours per week)

The School partners with many industrial, government, and educational organisations in Australia and internationally. UNSW is an international leader in quantum computing research and has particularly strong ties to quantum computing companies that have emerged from research programs in the School.
