About the Role
For this new and exciting role, the ideal candidate will be passionate about the Aerospace and Space industry and will make a significant contribution to the future of aviation!   Reporting to the Director Commercial Innovation Programs, the Head of Commercialisation: Space & Aerospace will be a business builder that is able to take responsibility for the end-to-end creation, development and delivery of commercialisation opportunities through industry partnerships, Intellectual Property (IP) licensing and new venture creation. The role will be responsible for developing enterprise-wide commercialisation strategies in their domain of expertise, leveraging all of the university’s expertise and capability, including research, commercial innovation, Swinburne Ventures Limited, students and staff.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a motivated and have extensive commercial management experience gained from the Defence or Aerospace industries

About You 
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • Demonstrated experience in business engagement and relationship development credentials, with deep appreciation of the realities of setting-up and growing commercial businesses.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic intellectual property and research capability commercialisation initiatives through own actions.
  • Demonstrated experience to lead new venture transactions, including team leadership.
  • Strong track record of delivering innovation and entrepreneurship programs for business, including strong project management skills.
  • Leading by influence: proven ability to be persuasive with a diverse range of stakeholders, including strong verbal and written communication skills and exemplary negotiation skills.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
