About the team

University Hall (UniHall) is the residential college owned and operated by The University of Western Australia (UWA). Over 750 UWA students from over 50 countries live, socialise and study at UniHall making it a fun and exciting collegial community. The University Hall Housekeeping team manage and undertake housekeeping activities to support student living.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will, under routine direction, provide the undertaking and overseeing of the maintenance, management and development of University Hall’s outdoor spaces, including soft and hard landscape areas.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Ensure that the University Hall grounds are checked for safety as the first task of each day
  • Maintain responsibility for planting, lawn, irrigation, maintenance and recording a seasonal program (including fertilising and mulching) for all garden areas, trees, shrubs, smaller plants and vegetables as required
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with landscape management, deterioration of any structure, repairs, ground improvements and future directions
  • Assist and maintain a seasonal and student-centred management program for all hard elements within the outdoor landscape as required (including signage, furniture, roadways and paved areas, etc.)
  • Assist and maintain all garden related equipment and make recommendations on the acquisition of new equipment as required
  • Assist the Facilities Manager to maintain and work within an agreed budget

About you

In line with the Western Australia COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Programme the successful applicant for this position will be required to provide proof of their full COVID-19 vaccination status (or have a Vaccination Exemption Statement) before commencing work at UWA.
