About the opportunity
The HDR Administration Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the Graduate Research School in the Faculty of Science. The Graduate Research School case manages future Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students through enquiries and admissions, whilst ensuring the timely progression of applications for admission and/or assessment of scholarship applications, through to the point of enrolment.
Your key responsibilities will be:
provide general administrative services and operational support to the work area
provide Faculty-specific administration services and support
coordinates diaries, meetings and events and provides conference support for the work area
maintains records, finance/accounting support and reporting for the work area
undertakes ad-hoc projects and other activitiesactively contribute to a team environment that fosters and develops effective working
You have
ability to work effectively in a team environment
ability to work under pressure in high volume work areas
excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including excellent phone manner and ability to structure and formulate clear written responses
high level computer skills including the use of databases and office suite
high level of accuracy and attention to detail
proven ability to understand and interpret policy
proven ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative to achieve objectives
proven excellence in the provision of high quality customer service
proven high level administrative skills
strong organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
