Overview
A career defining opportunity exists for an experienced and talented grants writer to apply their skills to the transformational future of Edith Cowan University (ECU). This role will be based in our Joondalup campus and will play a key part in securing transformational grants for ECU’s Foundation.
The Grants Officer role will suit an individual with a background in writing grants for Not-For-Profit or Higher Education institutions. This role will mainly focus on securing new philanthropic grants , to support the delivery of ECU’s word-class research projects, Schools, and other programs.
A vital conduit between the University and its community, the role requires an organised, results-driven team player with exceptional communication skills and the ability to plan, develop, prepare and submit grant proposals and applications to philanthropic organisations in a highly tailored , professional and impactful way, with high attention to detail to generate philanthropic income.
The Office of Development and Alumni Relations is responsible for building the foundations of lifelong relationships between the University’s alumni, business, and the community. The Office comprises three teams – Alumni Relations and Development and Operations.
This role will play a pivotal part supporting the Development Operations team and other business and service centres by assisting with the reporting and acquittal of grants to trusts and foundations.

- You have experience in writing philanthropic grants
- You thrive working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to meet strict deadlines
- You have experience working with Trust & Foundations and their reporting requirements
- You have excellent people skills and build strong relationships
- You’ve honed your administration skills
- You know the importance of strong internal and external stakeholder relationships

Benefits & Remuneration
This part time ongoing position attracts remuneration of $85,551 to $92,301 plus 17% University superannuation contribution (paid pro-rata).
